Dr. Katherine Trahan, a Richmond Virginia native, received her bachelor degree from James Madison University and her Medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College. She then completed her general surgery internship and residency at University of Texas, Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Trahan stayed on as faculty, performing both general and trauma surgery as well as teaching residents for the next 3 years. She then relocated to Charlottesville, VA where she performed general and bariatric surgery for 8 years. She has recently relocated to Richmond to be closer to family and raise her children.
Dr. Trahan is board certified in general surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She performs all aspects of general surgery with an emphasis in laproscopic surgery. She has special interest in gallbladder disease, hernia repair, abdominal surgery including colo-rectal, and thyroid and parathyroid procedures.
Dr. Trahan is now accepting patients at our JW campus for office visits and operates out of Chippenham hospital.
